Master in Management (MM)

The 11-month Master in Management (MM) is our intensive business leadership course for mid-career managers who wish to transform themselves into top-level executives and strategists for Asia.

The transformation of an MM student into a more mature, strategic leader is achieved through the development of higher-level leadership, strategy formulation, and execution skills. Students are selected according to their potential to drive medium to large companies to greater heights. Professors mentor and collaborate with students. Students develop a quantum new outlook of themselves, their organization, and their environment.

The Adaptive, Transformational and Inspirational Leader

The MM program design is anchored on a three module process. Each module is about three-and a-half months long, covering different stages of situational assessment, strategy formulation, and implementation. The first module develops students’ Adaptive Leadership skills. This module emphasizes seeking out and seizing opportunities for the organization. The students’ competency in environmental analysis, stakeholder analysis, technical analysis, and industry, market and micro-market analysis
are sharpened to better identify and evaluate opportunities.

The second module for Transformational Leadership heightens the student’s competency in corporate and functional strategy-formulation. The third module teaches Inspirational Leadership. Students learn about implementing organizational strategies through vision, mission, and values formation. As with all AIM degree programs, the MM program relies heavily on AIM’s rigorous case method, classroom and hands-on learning methodologies, and Asian context. MM students process about 600 cases. These aid students not only to master managerial tools and techniques, but to develop their own personal leadership style.

Skills Acquisition

All case discussions hone the students’ managerial decision-making skills. In addition to regular case sessions, the MM also employs 1 x 10 discussions (one professor, ten students) to allow more participation versus the larger case discussions.

The MM also features a unique field experience called the “Walkabout,” where students spend the last month of the program immersing themselves in a managerial project of their choice.
